Over the years, the guard force at the MFA has had a robust
number of artists, musicians,
and writers. The Museum attracts them. Some work here to put
themselves through school,
and then move on. For example, the actor Martin Mull, during his
student days at the Museum School,
worked here as a gallery guard. Others have remained, drawing
daily inspiration from some of the world's great works of art.
The Museum and its public benefit from this relationship. Museum
guards are well-informed,
motivated and caring workers. We are natural advocates for the
Museum's mission to bring the experience of fine art to its many
visitors. For this reason, we, the guards of MISU, believe that
we deserve fair treatment by management and a LIVING WAGE.
We present to you a sampling of artwork made by our members.
Enjoy!
